Scientific Method Practice

Scientists want to test a new cold medication. They recruit 100 people who are experiencing cold symptoms. They record all symptoms. 50 of the people are given the new drug. The other 50 people are given a sugar pill, called a placebo. Over the next several days, scientists recorded the symptoms of the patients. They discovered that the people taking the drug felt relief of their symptoms a day faster than the patients who received a placebo.
